We Are Buyer Focused

DJC Digital is a buyer focused, boutique digital asset brokerage and M&A advisory founded in 2016 and led by former banker and digital marketing expert, David Carroll.  David has amassed 21 years of experience in the digital asset marketplace having owned, managed or sold over a dozen Internet-based businesses since 1999.  Prior to that, David had a 12-year diversified financial services career including deep exposure to M&A, securities trading, mortgage banking and currencies.

We are primarily buy side brokers. Our primary mission is to serve digital asset buyers through our Off-Market Digital Property Search Service. That service offers investors and entrepreneurs (owner-operators) deep searches for off-market digital properties in industry niches of their choosing. We also represent buyers in transactions where the target has already been identified. Our buyer clients include private equity firms, family offices, digital portfolio operators and solo owner-operators.

We are also sell side brokers. We represent sellers of digital businesses including eCommerce stores, digital content websites, SaaS properties and alternative digital assets. Our extensive work with buyers gives us a robust database for successfully marketing digital properties listed with us.

We are a boutique. This means that we work with fewer clients and offer them a deeper, more personalized service. We are experienced with complex , unique or troublesome transactions and we pride ourselves on being problem solvers that take on challenges other brokers or advisors avoid.

We are market makers. Because we work with buyers and sellers, we essentially operate a private marketplace where we match buyers and sellers based on their mutual needs. Most of what happens at DJC Digital is not visible publicly. Our clients value privacy.

We are connectors. We currently speak to about one thousand companies a year. Not every company wants to be acquired. Some prospective sellers need advice or expert referrals. We maintain connections to leading service providers serving digital businesses including digital marketing agencies, merchant account providers, content agencies, fulfillment companies, software developers, coaches, advertising networks and more. If we can’t make a match, we can always assist the seller through referrals, or our Prep-for-Sale service.

What We Do


Match buyers with digital properties

Using our Off-Market Digital Property Search process, we develop tailored deal flow for our buyers. Our buyers come to us generally because they are not satisfied with the inventory available on the sell-side marketplaces or the competitive nature of buying properties there. Our buyers like to have more control over what they’re buying and the multiple they’re paying.

Since we’re performing outreach to approximately 1,000 companies per month, we aren’t able to match all of those prospects with our buyer pool. When that happens, we offer seller targets the opportunity to list their businesses for sale with us. Since we have a robust and engaged buyer community, our listings are sold at an approximately 95% close rate.



valuations and prep-for-sale consulting

Of the 1,000 companies we touch each month, only a portion of them are actively prepared to be acquired. Most of those targets are on the spectrum of preparing for an eventual exit. To support their needs, we offer formal written valuations and a Prep-for-Sale service which features referrals to hand selected experts who can execute your growth plan.

Content / Digital Publishing Sites

DJC Digital is experienced in brokering sales of content sites from very simple blogs monetized by Adsense to complex sites monetizing content with multiple revenue streams including eCommerce. We’re active members of the SEO provider community and our founder ran a digital marketing agency. We define content broadly and include in this category online courses, monetized datasets, calculators, tools and more.


Apps / Plugins / Extensions

DJC Digital actively works with app developers and investors seeking these tools. Assets in this class include Wordpress plugins, Chrome extensions, mobile apps for iOS and Android. We’re experienced working with the parties who operate in this market and also with the unique valuation challenges presented.



Amazon FBA / ecommerce sites

DJC Digital understands from experience the unique challenges of valuing and selling eCommerce businesses. We’ve handled issues around inventory, fulfillment, product development and marketing. We have brokered the sale of numerous Amazon FBA businesses and are trained in the unique issues that present themselves when selling or buying them, particularly around avoiding suspensions upon migration. We are very comfortable around eCommerce.


Agencies and Professional Service Firms

DJC Digital has represented buyers and sellers of various types of agencies, particularly those serving the digital asset ecosystem. These include content agencies, digital marketing firms, brokerages, etc. We’re skilled in assessing client retention issues and structuring terms to address those risks. Those risks are usually the primary ones facing buyers of professional service firms.



Saas businesses

Cloud-based software has become the norm. DJC works extensively with SaaS developers and investors seeking SaaS properties. We’re very experienced in valuing SaaS properties and are comfortable in the alphabet soup of SaaS metrics (LTV, CAC, MRR, AOV). We also participate in a number of SaaS industry groups and keep up with the latest developments affecting SaaS companies.


Podcasts / Software / Alternative assets

DJC Digital prides itself on not only thinking outside the box, but putting our money where our mouth is. We are currently active in the podcast market representing buyers (networks) and sellers (hosts) of podcasts. We’ve represented sellers of software products that are not (yet) cloud hosted.
